The Pivot Arts Festival is a celebration of innovative performance. But it’s also something bigger. It’s an opportunity to come together as a community. It’s chance to break out of our daily routine and do something different. After all, how often do you get to take a workshop with a performance poet named Toaster?? It’s not every day that you encounter the rotund clown who is HONEYBUNS. And I’m willing to bet that a lot of you haven’t yet experienced the electric music of BAATHHAUS, laughed yourself silly at an all ages show like BRI-KO, or gone to a SPOKEN WORD night show. This is your chance.

This year’s theme is “Celebrate Community” which gets to the heart of what we’re trying to do at Pivot Arts. We want to be a pivot point that brings people together through the arts.

There’s often a lot of sad things in our world – both around the globe, the violence that happens around our beautiful City of Chicago and the losses that many of us have experienced on a personal scale.

For me, the Pivot Arts Festival gives meaning and joy to a world that sometimes doesn’t make a whole lot of sense. Oh, and there’s ice cream too.

See Theater. Eat Ice Cream. Dance.

The Pivot Arts Festival runs from May 28 – June 7 only. Don’t miss out! pivotarts.org/festival.
