July 27

Sunset 60 Minutes is a multidisciplinary performance influenced by the diaries of Jan Fabre and inspired by queer legacy and survival. This genre-defying piece blends choreography, voice, soundscape, and symbolic design to explore identity, inheritance, and the metamorphosis of artist into art. The sun and moon become a central presence in a world where gender, memory, and embodiment collapse into ritual transformation.

Carolina Migli Bateson, actress and theatrical creative.

Following her training as a classical dancer at Accademia Domenichino da Piacenza Dance, she graduated in acting at the prestigious Gaiety School of Acting in Dublin in 1995. As a young actress, she worked in Ireland, England, and France from 1995 to 2004, delivering acclaimed performances in productions such as Shakespeare’s “Measure for Measure” and “The Merchant of Venice”, Checov ’s Uncle Vanya” and “Three Sisters”, as well as Dario Fo and Franca Rame’s “The Open Couple”.

In 2004, she returned to her native Italy, where she pursued a Master’s degree at Teatro Due in Parma, “The European Actor between Theater, Dance, and Music”. It was during this period that she developed her distinctive poetics: a theater that intersects different languages and performative arts to create a profound connection between performer and audience.

She has enjoyed a longstanding collaboration with the renowned NoveTeatro company, contributing her talents as an actress to productions such as “Rosencrantz and Guildenstern”, “Boston Marriage”, “The Mistress of the Inn”, and “The Rediscovered Friend”. Additionally, she has distinguished herself as a translator, introducing the works of new Anglo-Saxon, Francophone, and Spanish authors to Italian audiences, while delivering guest lectures on the subject at the University of London UCL.

After honing her directorial skills at the Globe Theatre in London, she joined the esteemed international collective GLOBAL HIVE. Her work is characterized by a captivating synthesis of multiple expressive modalities, as evidenced by productions such as “The Story of Evelyn”, “The Dream-50 Years from Dallas”, “Heartbreak”, “Damnation” “the Revolution”, “Birds”, “Hamlet/Alfred”, “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”, “The Circus of Ants”, “Silence”, “Lifting”, “Priscilla”, and in collaboration with Global Hive “Medusa”, and “Atlantis”.

With her latest work, “The Night Diaries” by Jan Fabre, she has begun to explore the intersection of performance and design. Committed to environmental sustainability, she consistently incorporates recycled materials into her sets and costumes.

Currently serving as the director of the ChezActors group and as artistic director of the theater in Grazzano Visconti, she continues to push the boundaries of theatrical expression and innovation.
